Suspicious Parents
My mom has to suspect that I’m pulling away from the Mormon church, and I would think she’d be wondering about my homosexuality as well. But my mom has always surprised me in two opposite directions–sometimes I’m amazed at the things she is completely oblivious of; other times I’m amazed at what she knows that she shouldn’t. Well, yesterday I received an email from my mom that she sent to all of her away-from-home children, telling us to write and tell her how things are going–but not to mention depressing things unless “repentance” and change were on the horizon. Does she suspect that I’m gearing up to a huge revelation, and is she trying to head it off? What an interesting reaction. On the other hand, my (very intelligent) mother says some of the most clueless things sometimes, so this may have no hidden meaning at all.
