The Brights
I am a Bright. A brand-spankin’-new one, at that, signed up mere minutes ago.
What, you ask, is a Bright? I’ll quote from the website, www.the-brights.net:
- A bright is a person who has a naturalistic worldview
- A bright’s worldview is free of supernatural and mystical elements
- The ethics and actions of a bright are based on a naturalistic worldview
Me to T! I haven’t explored the site that thoroughly (you might say I’ve thrown my allegiance in with them a bit prematurely) but I did browse through a list of “Enthusiastic Brights,” i.e., people who are willing to post their photo a short personal blurb for all to see, and I ran across a couple of names I respect–Michael Shermer, for instance, and James Randi–so I think I’ll be okay.
I’ll keep y’all updated on Brights and Bright-ness. Ciao!
