Alone and Unobserved

The library catalog has been down today, which has really taxed my rudimentary my understanding of the Dewey Decimal System and my familiarity with our collection. It’s been kind of fun, scratching symbols on paper with an actual pencil, like some twentieth-century cave-dweller, and walking to the actual bookshelf to see if a certain book is in, but it is also mighty fatiguing. I will be glad when the catalog is back up and I can pretend to be omniscient again.

UPDATE: The library catalog came back up after a couple of days of downtime, and the masses rejoiced.
