The Reaping, Utah Style
Yesterday, it was sunny and warm most of the day, with a high of 70°F. My brother and I ate lunch on the patio of the Avenues Bakery, and in the course of an hour, one side of my face and neck burned, although I didn’t realize it at the time. Since I was wearing sunglasses, I also have one-half of a raccoon-tan. It’s hard to tell in the pictures below, but if you squint, you can probably convince yourself that one half of my face is redder than the other.
Today, the high was 46°F, and it snowed—snowed!—for most of the day. In the early evening, it cleared up and got sunny (but still cold). And then, as the sun set, it started hailing, so hard it sounded like my apartment windows were going to break. I don’t even want to know what the heavens are planning on dropping on us next. Frogs? Lice? Blood?

I just remembered I’m a first-born son. My doom is obviously sealed.
P.S. For those of you keeping track, this brother is the first member of my family I’ve spoken with since Christmas. Am I getting soft? No!
Well, maybe just a little.
