The Gouger Laws of Library Science
Confession time: I was accepted some time ago to a library science program, and was offered a hefty scholarship to boot. So at the end of the month I’m back in school. Hurrah.
Also, go check out Gouger‘s new blog, “The Gouger Laws of Library Science.” Guaranteed to make librarians laugh until they choke. Those of you with real-life library experience should submit your own laws—it’s fun!

Congrats! Scholarships make things a lot better, don’t they?

It’s been a good week for library comedy.

Karie: Yes, except for all the hoops I have to jump through to get it, and all the strings that are attached to it. :P
Playa: Indeed it has. LOL

So are you doing the distance ed thing or are you going to be moving somewhere? And congrats on the scholarship!

I’m doing a distance program through UNT’s School of Library Science. There’s no way I’m giving up my real, live library job until I have an MLS.
The downside of a distance program is that if there’s a problem or inconsistency with your application/file, it takes ten times longer to straighten it out, since you can’t march into the admissions office and demand that they pay attention to you, NOW, dammit!
Also, it will mean somehow motivating my own self to study and do homework. Now would be a good time for me to discover a heretofore-undiscovered talent in that area.

That’s an interesting blog post you linked to, playa. Not sure how it could be termed humorous or book-related, though.
