ABC the Most Fabulous Network of All?
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has released its first-ever comprehensive scorecard on diversity in network television, the Network Responsibility Index. ABC came out on top, garnering a “Good” ranking with 15% of its primetime programming being “LGBT inclusive”; FOX’s measly 6% inclusiveness and diversity meant it ranked “Failing.” You can read the whole Index on the GLAAD website by clicking here.
I wonder what a network would have to do to get an “Excellent” rating. Is it really any more fair to push for gays to be overrepresented than to allow them to remain underrepresented?
