Vienna Loraine
My niece Vienna was born last Friday evening (August 24, 2007) at around 9:50 PM, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz. She is welcomed into the family by two proud parents, four excited grandparents, and a multitude of enthusiastic aunts, uncles and cousins. Congratulations! I used to get annoyed at babies – they steal my friends – but a very good friend’s baby managed to convert me earlier this year. They are adorable :-) and, despite anything I ever say to the contrary, I quite enjoy playing the role of doting would-be-uncle, as I’m sure you do, too. You must have quite a collection of nieces and nephews…?

Unfortunately not. My older sister is the only one married or with children, so this is the first time I’ll really get to be an uncle. I’m stoked!
