In Which We Learn about Familia Limnephilidae

I was recently tagged by Craig. The rules:

  1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
  2. Turn to page 123.
  3. Find the 5th sentence.
  4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog.
  5. Tag 5 people.

Of course, since I’m in a library, the nearest book would be La Gran Enciclopedia de los Insectos.

Familia Limnephilidae: Extensa familia que comprende a la vez insectos de grandes y pequeñas dimensiones, con las alas generalmente ahumadas, sin manchas distintivas, pero con largas antenas filiformes.

I don’t think I’ll tag anyone specific this time around, but if you are reading this and are interested in participating, feel free to claim that I tagged you.

A big spanish encyclopaedia about insects? AWESOME!

Well, my nearest books are all those Mormon and chemical engineering ones I don’t use anymore; however, the next closest one is one I received “not for my birthday”, titled “Washington on Foot: 23 Walking Tours and Maps of Washington, D.C., Old Town Alexandria, and Takoma Park”.

The page starts with the end of the sentence from the previous page, so I won’t count that. It also includes two sentence fragments that end in periods like this: “39 All Souls Unitarian Church, southeast corner of 16th and Harvard Streets.”

Including the fragments, the fifth sentence, referring to the aforementioned All Souls Unitarian Church, reads: “Today the congregation is integrated and something of a status church among Washington residents.”

However, if I skip the fragments, the fifth complete sentence reads: “This is a very interesting architectural period piece designed by Ramm Hanson and Don Carlos Young of Salt Lake City, completed in 1933.”

So I avoid the stacks of unsold Mormon books, pull out a travel guide, and still wind up having a sentence about the former Mormon Washington Chapel, now owned by the Unification Church. Sigh.

That’s awesome. I’ve shoved all my Mormon books in a box that I use as a nightstand. So I guess it’s a good thing I wasn’t lying on my bed while writing this post?
