In Which Life Has Lost All Meaning
The news is out, and what we’ve all secretly or not-so-secretly feared has come to pass: another Doctor is deserting us. David Tennant, who has played The Doctor on BBC’s phenomenal Doctor Who for the past three seasons is leaving the show at the end of next year.
Remember: this is a personal betrayal of each and every one of us, but it’s especially a personal betrayal of me. Fortunately, we have a year to write angst-ridden emo blogs about how Tennant hates us and how life has no meaning anymore. We could even start an internet petition or a Facebook group imploring him to change his mind! Because that kind of thing is so effective.

Four seasons total sounds about right. Not everyone can last as long as Tom Baker. The Doctor is dead: Long live the Doctor.
Damn, I’m a geek.

I’m not yet at the stage of the grieving process where I can be consoled or reasoned with. Check back with me in 2010.

I ALREADY told you this a couple months ago. But you didn’t believe me.

A couple of months ago it was rumor that was being denied by several key parties. Now they are all in agreement. Plus: I didn’t want it to be true.

tragic news indeed.

Plus: I didn’t want it to be true.
That being the most salient point. :)
I’ll miss the man, that’s for sure. He got it so right. On the plus side (for me) there’s a guy that works in my section at work who’s just like him in both looks and intensity. I like to imagine he really is a Time Lord.

Lucky. I wish I worked with a Time Lord. An attractive, non-evil one, that is. …And one that wouldn’t draw intergalactic/intertemporal disaster down on my workplace.

The original 1963 series is deep in my blockbuster queue…you can watch those with me when I finally get to them. But I have to get through The Prisoner series and The Wild Wild West before I get to Doctor Who. Come on, Sean, the problem is not a loss of Doctor Who’s, it’s a problem of finding time to consume all the media out there.

Media overload is what has made me almost stop watching TV altogether. I am a delicate flower—I just can’t take it!
