Am I alone,
And unobserved? I am!
Then let me own
I'm an aesthetic sham!

That’s a pretty sweet library! I work at the Provo library, which is also nice, but it’s nothing like that one.

I used to live just a couple blocks away from the Provo library, and I loved it–I think it’s great use for a wonderful, historic building. Went there as often as possible, even though I was a BYU student and had the run of the HBLL. Public libraries are just more inviting for the casual reader, I think.

They really are nicer, aren’t they. I’ve always liked public libraries — comfortable chairs for reading, huge windows for lots of light, and some quality time for people-watching without being surrounded by cramming students making you feel like you’re wasting your time. Plus, no one expects you to buy anything, so there’s no sense of being hurried along by the staff if you’ve decided to just hang out and make a day of it.

I am jealous! I’ve been waiting for a job opening at the library forever. :)

I assume you’re not looking to become a shelver? Because they’re ALWAYS hiring shelvers. Anything else is few and far between. And it seems they NEVER hire librarians. :P But it’s an awesome place to work, if you can get in.

I would totally be a shelver. In fact, I wouldn’t mind it at all. lol
