A Public Notice
To the motherfucker who tried to make a left turn at a busy intersection AFTER the light had turned red but chickened out with the nose of the car in the intersection, completely blocking the crosswalk: You are a moron. What, did you think the other cars were honking for fun? No, they were trying to signal you to back up five feet so we pedestrians didn’t have to sidle out into traffic to get around you. Fuck you. You’re lucky you only got flipped off, instead of having your license taken away like you deserve.
Sometimes I hate drivers. >:(

You know this would cease to be an issue, if they’d only put in retractable spikes along the car side of the crosswalk. ;)

Henh! Indeed.

Yep. I have had those types of driving days, also.

This reminds me of my experience today. I was crossing 9th East to go to the coffee shop. As I stepped out into the intersection I swear to god I felt a bumper hit my shins & then retract. Jumping out of the way I then looked & it was an old lady who couldn’t wait to make a right turn. Now this isn’t unusual but one step behind me was an elderly lady w/a cane crossing. Yeah she nearly hit me and another old lady!
Drivers just slow down!

Right-turners are terrible. So are left-turners, for that matter. Pedestrians are invisible/inconsequential to too many drivers. It makes me crazy.
And don’t even get me started on drivers vs bikers vs pedestrians. :D

Utah drivers are the craziest! It’s ridiculous that teachers can give kids licenses. They should be instructed at school, but still given the test through the DMV (this is how they do it in San Diego). I think it would make all the difference.
I do have to admit though, the other day I accidentally went the wrong way down a one way in the avenues. Oops (in my defense there wasn’t a sign lol).

I would like to say to alana that doing just that is one of my two greatest driving fears. The other? Being stuck behind someone at a busy intersection who can find no time to turn left when yielding during a green, yet also forgets to go on the inevitable gimme arrow. The horror!
