My Very Favoritest Library Patron (on the phone): “I have some items due today. Can I bring them back tomorrow instead?”
Me: “Sure. But you’ll be charged a fine.”
MVFLP: “But I don’t want to pay a fine.”
Me: “…have you tried renewing your items? That’s a good way to stop a fine from accruing.”
